Supported Independent Leaving ( SIL)
Supported Independent Living (SIL) is a support service designed for individuals with disabilities, allowing them to live independently while receiving necessary assistance. This model typically includes:
- Personal Care: Help with daily activities like cooking, cleaning, and personal hygiene.
- Life Skills Development: Training in budgeting, cooking, and social skills to promote independence.
- 24/7 Support: Access to support staff as needed, ensuring safety and assistance without compromising independence.
- Community Integration: Opportunities for social interaction and participation in community activities.
SIL programs aim to empower individuals by providing a supportive environment where they can make their own choices and develop their skills, fostering a greater sense of autonomy and quality of life.
